Opal

Opal was a US band active in the 1980s, formed by guitarist David Roback and singer Kendra Smith. Their music blended psychedelic rock, dream pop, and folk-influenced songwriting, marked by reverb-heavy, chiming guitars and restrained, atmospheric vocals. Associated with the broader Paisley Underground milieu, they are often seen as a transitional project that linked Roback's earlier jangle-psychedelia work to his later, slower, moodier alternative projects.
