Nat King Cole

Nat King Cole was an American jazz pianist and vocalist known for his warm baritone voice and relaxed, intimate delivery. He began his career leading a jazz trio where his piano playing was central and later transitioned into mainstream popular singing, marked by smooth phrasing and elegant arrangements; he was also among the first African American performers to host a national television variety show and remained active until his death in 1965.
