Mission of Burma

Mission of Burma was an American post-punk band formed in 1979 and disbanded in 2016. Their music combined jagged, guitar-driven noise and abrasive textures with melodic basslines and propulsive drumming, often using tape loops and studio effects to create dense, angular songs. They are regarded as a formative act in U.S. post-punk and independent rock for blending punk energy with experimental approaches to sound.
