Mike Oldfield

Mike Oldfield is a British multi-instrumentalist and composer known for blending progressive rock, folk, classical and electronic textures into long-form instrumental compositions. He emerged in the early 1970s and is associated with layered overdubbing and studio-based arrangements, notably on his 1973 debut album Tubular Bells, while later work ranged from shorter, song-based pieces to ambient and electronic experimentation.
