Midlake

Midlake is an American band formed in Denton, Texas in 1999. Their music blends indie rock with folk and chamber pop elements, often drawing on 1970s soft rock and pastoral folk sounds; arrangements commonly feature warm analog textures, layered vocal harmonies, woodwinds and vintage keyboards, with an emphasis on melodic, atmospheric songwriting. Over time they moved from lo-fi beginnings toward more elaborate, orchestral arrangements and a focus on cohesive, album-centered work.
