Mickey & Sylvia

Mickey & Sylvia were an American rhythm and blues duo active from 1956 to 1965, pairing vocalist Sylvia Robinson with guitarist Mickey Baker. Their recordings mixed R&B and early rock and roll sensibilities, often featuring Robinson's smooth, conversational vocal delivery against Baker's rhythmic, guitar-centered accompaniment. As a compact vocal-and-guitar team they became known for a tight, crossover small-group sound and for Robinson's later involvement in record production and label work.
