Martha Reeves and the Vandellas were an American Motown vocal group active from 1962 to 1972, led by Martha Reeves with close three-part harmonies. Their sound blended gospel-influenced vocals with driving R&B rhythms and bright horn arrangements typical of Detroit soul, and they are known for recordings including Heat Wave and Dancing in the Street.
