Lloyd Price

Lloyd Price was an American rhythm and blues and early rock and roll singer from New Orleans, known for a strong, energetic vocal delivery and for combining New Orleans R&B rhythms with pop-oriented arrangements. Active from the 1950s onward, he led bands and recorded across decades and is noted for his role in helping R&B styles reach a wider popular audience. He died in 2021.
