Leonard Cohen

Leonard Cohen (1934–2016) was a Canadian singer-songwriter, poet and novelist whose work combined folk, pop and spoken-word influences. He was known for a deep baritone voice and literate, often meditative lyrics that explore themes of love, religion, politics and spiritual longing. Cohen began as a poet and novelist before recording music in the late 1960s and continued to write and perform until his death in 2016.
