Leon Russell

Leon Russell was an American pianist, singer-songwriter and arranger whose piano-driven style fused rock, blues, country and gospel influences. He worked extensively as a session musician and bandleader and maintained a solo career characterized by eclectic arrangements and roots-oriented songwriting. His work is often linked with the Tulsa sound and with collaborations across rock and Americana circles. He died in 2016.
