Lee Morgan

Lee Morgan was an American jazz trumpeter whose work in the 1950s and 1960s was closely associated with hard bop and soul jazz. He was known for a bright, assertive trumpet tone, blues-inflected phrasing, and energetic, rhythmic phrasing; he recorded extensively for Blue Note Records and was a member of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers. He died in 1972.
