LCD Soundsystem

LCD Soundsystem is an American band formed in 2001 by James Murphy in New York City. Their music mixes dance-punk, electronic, post-punk and disco influences, pairing analog synths and drum machines with guitars and a live band, often featuring long-form arrangements and literate, wry lyrics. The project is closely associated with DFA Records and is known for bringing dancefloor aesthetics into an indie rock context and for energetic live performances.
