Johnnie Ray

Johnnie Ray (1927–1990) was an American singer and pianist known for a highly emotional vocal delivery and dramatic stage presence. Active mainly in the early 1950s, his performances blended elements of traditional pop, rhythm and blues, and early rock sounds, and he is often cited as a stylistic bridge between mainstream pop vocalists and emerging rock and roll artists.
