Joe Liggins and His Honeydrippers

Joe Liggins and His Honeydrippers were an American piano-led jump blues and rhythm and blues band fronted by pianist Joe Liggins in the mid 20th century. Their sound featured prominent piano, saxophone and small-combo rhythms with a dance-oriented groove that bridged swing-era blues and emerging R&B styles. They are regarded as part of the postwar movement in popular music that helped shape later developments in rhythm and blues and related genres.
