Jimmie Davis

Jimmie Davis was an American country and gospel singer-songwriter whose warm Southern vocal style blended traditional country, hillbilly, and church-influenced gospel. He recorded and performed from the 1930s onward and is often associated with the song "You Are My Sunshine." He later combined his musical career with politics, serving as governor of Louisiana.
