Jim Croce

Jim Croce was an American singer-songwriter whose work blended folk, pop, and light rock with an emphasis on narrative storytelling and acoustic-guitar-based arrangements. His warm, conversational baritone and straightforward melodies complemented lyrics about everyday characters and personal observations, with performances ranging from solo acoustic to small-band settings. Active in the late 1960s and early 1970s, Croce's songs are often noted for their clarity of storytelling and melodic economy. He died in 1973.
