Jackie Wilson

Jackie Wilson was an American singer known for a powerful, emotive tenor voice and electrifying stage presence, a figure who helped bridge rhythm and blues and early soul with pop-oriented vocal style. He was noted for dynamic live performances and wide vocal range, and he influenced generations of soul and rock singers. In the mid-1970s he suffered a severe onstage heart attack and remained incapacitated until his death in 1984.
