Ian Hunter

Ian Hunter is a British singer-songwriter who came to prominence as the lead singer of the rock band Mott the Hoople in the early 1970s. His work mixes rock and glam rock elements with literate, narrative songwriting and a distinctive, slightly raspy vocal delivery. As a solo artist he continued a melodic, song-centered approach and frequently worked with guitarist and producer Mick Ronson. He is often noted for theatrical phrasing and an affinity for roots-oriented rock arrangements.
