Ian Dury & the Blockheads

Ian Dury & the Blockheads were an English band fronted by singer-songwriter Ian Dury. They mixed pub rock, funk, jazz and new wave influences, driven by tight, groove-oriented arrangements and prominent keyboards and saxophone. Dury's conversational, talk-singing delivery and sharply observational lyrics gave the group an idiosyncratic, theatrical presence within the late 1970s British scene, while the Blockheads were known for versatile, rhythm-focused musicianship.
