Hubert Parry

Hubert Parry (Charles Hubert Hastings Parry, 1848–1918) was an English composer, teacher and music historian whose output includes choral works, hymns, oratorios and orchestral pieces. His music often blends late-Romantic harmony and orchestration with contrapuntal clarity, and his 1916 setting of William Blake's poem "Jerusalem" is a well-known part of British choral repertoire. Parry also held influential teaching and academic roles and contributed to music scholarship in Britain.
