Heaven 17

Heaven 17 are an English synthpop band formed in 1980 by Martyn Ware and Ian Craig Marsh with vocalist Glenn Gregory. Their music combines electronic synthesizers and drum machines with funk and soul influences, pairing danceable rhythms and polished production with socially and politically minded lyrics. Emerging from the Sheffield electronic scene, they are associated with early 1980s British electronic pop.
