Happy Mondays

Happy Mondays were a British band formed in 1985 and disbanded in 1992. Emerging from the Manchester scene, they blended alternative rock, funk and electronic dance elements associated with the Madchester movement, pairing rhythmic, groove-driven instrumentation with the idiosyncratic, talk-sung vocals of frontman Shaun Ryder. Their sound emphasized danceable beats, prominent bass and psychedelic-tinged guitar textures, and they are often linked with the crossover between club culture and indie rock in late 1980s Britain.
