Grant Lee Buffalo

Grant Lee Buffalo was an American alternative rock band formed in 1991 and active through most of the 1990s, led by singer-songwriter Grant-Lee Phillips with Paul Kimble and Joey Peters. Their music blended alternative rock with folk and Americana influences, characterized by Phillips's resonant baritone, layered acoustic and electric guitar textures, organ and atmospheric production, and narrative, often evocative lyrics. They combined intimate, rootsy elements with larger, cinematic arrangements and dynamic contrasts, making them a distinctive presence in the 1990s alternative and roots-influenced scene.
