Gossip

An American band formed in 1999 in Olympia, Washington, Gossip is fronted by singer Beth Ditto and is known for blending punk and indie rock with dance-punk and soul influences. Their sound features raw, powerful vocals, angular guitar and driving rhythms, and their work is often associated with outspoken queer and feminist perspectives and high-energy live performances. They became a visible presence in the 2000s indie and punk scenes for bringing danceable grooves into a punk-rooted aesthetic.
