Genesis

Genesis was an English rock band formed in 1967 and disbanded in 2022. They began in a progressive rock vein characterized by extended compositions, complex arrangements, and theatrical live presentation, and over time moved toward a more streamlined, melodic pop rock approach with greater emphasis on keyboards and concise song structures. The band is noted for the evolving roles of members such as Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford and Steve Hackett, and for spanning both progressive and mainstream rock styles.
