Funkadelic

Funkadelic was an American band formed in 1968 and active through 1981, associated with the Parliament-Funkadelic collective led by George Clinton. Their music fused funk and soul with psychedelic rock textures, heavy guitar work, extended jams, and experimental studio production, often featuring surreal or socially pointed lyrical themes. Known for blurring genre boundaries, they played a central role in the development of 1970s funk and are frequently cited as an influence on later funk artists and on musicians who sampled their recordings in hip hop and other styles.
