Frank Zappa
Frank Zappa was an American composer, guitarist, and bandleader known for blending rock, jazz, and contemporary classical elements with studio experimentation and satirical lyrics. He led the Mothers of Invention and maintained a prolific recording and composing career that ranged from small-group improvisation to orchestral and electronic works, including use of digital synthesis tools. Zappa was also outspoken on issues of artistic freedom and often mixed humor and social commentary into his music. He died in 1993.
