Four Tops

Four Tops are an American vocal quartet formed in 1956 and closely associated with the Motown era. Their sound blends gospel-influenced, emotionally driven lead vocals with tight four-part harmonies over rhythm and blues and soul arrangements, often supported by orchestral and rhythm-section production typical of 1960s Motown recordings. As a long-running male vocal group from Detroit, they played a notable role in shaping the vocal-group style of classic soul and R&B.
