Fairport Convention

Fairport Convention are an English folk rock band formed in 1967, known for blending traditional British folk material with rock instrumentation and electric arrangements. Early lineups included singers and instrumentalists such as Sandy Denny, Richard Thompson, Ashley Hutchings, Simon Nicol and Dave Swarbrick, and the group is closely associated with the emergence of British folk rock and a long-running presence on the live and festival circuit.
