Enrico Caruso

Enrico Caruso (died 1921) was an Italian operatic tenor known for a warm, powerful lyric voice, expressive phrasing, and strong stage presence. He performed major Italian repertoire and was closely associated with the Metropolitan Opera in New York; he was also an early commercial recording artist who helped introduce operatic singing to wider audiences.
