Elliott Smith

Elliott Smith (died 2003) was an American singer-songwriter known for intimate, melancholic acoustic-based songs, delicate fingerpicked guitar work, and quiet, multi-tracked vocals. His introspective, confessional lyrics and understated production followed earlier work with the Portland indie rock band Heatmiser and helped shape the indie singer-songwriter sound that followed.
