Earth, Wind & Fire

Earth, Wind & Fire, formed in 1969, is an American band known for blending R&B, soul, funk, jazz, disco and African musical elements into richly arranged, horn-driven compositions. They are characterized by tight brass sections, layered vocal harmonies and distinctive falsetto leads, along with rhythmic complexity and use of varied percussion and instruments such as the kalimba, resulting in a polished, orchestral-pop sound and a reputation for theatrical live performances.
