Dr. Hook

Dr. Hook was an American rock band formed in 1968 and active through 1985. Their music blended country rock, folk, and pop with a streak of novelty and humor in their early material, much of it penned by poet and songwriter Shel Silverstein. The group featured a contrast between Dennis Locorriere's smooth lead vocals and Ray Sawyer's rougher voice, and over time their arrangements moved toward a more polished soft rock and pop sound.
