Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band

Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band was an American band formed in 1976 that blended disco rhythms with big band and swing-era orchestration, incorporating Latin and Caribbean influences and a theatrical, retro aesthetic. The sound emphasized lush horn and string arrangements, layered vocal harmonies, and a playful, narrative approach to performance; August Darnell and Stony Browder were central figures, and Darnell later led Kid Creole and the Coconuts. The group remained active through 1979.
