Don Drummond

Don Drummond was a Jamaican trombonist and composer, a founding member of the Skatalites and a central figure in the development of ska in the early 1960s. He was known for melodic, rhythmically incisive trombone lines and for helping shape the horn arrangements that became a hallmark of Jamaican popular music as it moved toward rocksteady. He remained active as a studio musician and arranger during the decade and died in 1969.
