Dolly Collins

Dolly Collins was a British folk arranger and musician associated with the mid-20th century English folk revival. A keyboard player who often used a portative organ and piano, she created spare, early-music influenced accompaniments for traditional songs and worked closely with singer Shirley Collins. Her arrangements blended modal and renaissance textures with acoustic folk performance, giving old material an austere, antique sound. She continued to work as an arranger and performer through the later 20th century and died in 1995.
