Dizzy Gillespie

Dizzy Gillespie was an American jazz trumpeter and composer who played a central role in the development of bebop and modern jazz. He was known for his virtuosic technique, bent trumpet bell and puffed cheeks, and for integrating Afro-Cuban rhythms and larger ensemble arrangements into his work. His playing and compositions influenced many later jazz musicians.
