Dinosaur Jr.

Dinosaur Jr. is an American alternative rock band formed in 1984, known for a loud, guitar-forward sound built around heavy distortion, melodic soloing, and a mix of abrasive and introspective vocals. Led by guitarist and singer J Mascis with original members Lou Barlow and Murph, the group blended punk energy with classic rock-derived guitar work and indie songwriting approaches. Their style was influential within college rock and alternative underground scenes and helped inform later indie and grunge developments.
