Dick Dale

Dick Dale was an American guitarist and early pioneer of surf rock, noted for aggressive, rapid picking, heavy reverb-drenched tone, and the use of Middle Eastern scales that reflected his Lebanese heritage. His distinctive technique and equipment choices helped define the surf guitar sound, and he was often referred to as the "King of the Surf Guitar." He recorded and performed from the late 1950s onward and died in 2019.
