Del Shannon

Del Shannon was an American singer-songwriter active mainly in the early 1960s, whose music blended rock and roll, pop, and rockabilly influences. He was known for a high, expressive tenor voice with frequent falsetto and songs that often explored themes of heartbreak and longing. He is associated with the 1961 single "Runaway," which featured an electronic keyboard solo played on a Musitron, and he continued recording and performing into later decades before his death in 1990.
