David Bowie was an English singer, songwriter, and actor known for continual reinvention and theatrical presentation. His work spanned glam rock, art pop, experimental rock, electronic music and soul, and he frequently adopted stage personae such as Ziggy Stardust. Bowie had a longstanding interest in visual style and performance as part of his artistry, and he died in 2016.
