Cutty Ranks is a Jamaican dancehall deejay known for a deep, gravelly voice and an assertive, rhythmic delivery. Active since the late 1980s, he became associated with the harder-edged dancehall sound, blending toasting and singjay styles over reggae and digital riddims and working with a range of Jamaican and international producers.
