Coleman Hawkins

Coleman Hawkins was an American jazz tenor saxophonist, active in the early to mid 20th century and who died in 1969. He helped establish the tenor saxophone as a principal jazz solo instrument, known for a large, resonant tone and advanced harmonic improvisation that influenced swing-era players and later modern jazz musicians.
