Chuck Brown & The Soul Searchers were a Washington, D.C. band led by guitarist and vocalist Chuck Brown, widely associated with the development of go-go, a percussion-forward, funk-influenced style. Their sound blended funk, soul, R&B, and jazz elements into extended, groove-based live performances with prominent congas, percussion, and call-and-response interaction with the audience.
