Chris Bell

Chris Bell was an American singer-songwriter and guitarist best known as a founding member of the Memphis rock band Big Star. His work combined melodic, chiming guitar textures and concise pop songcraft with introspective, often melancholic lyrics; he is commonly associated with early power pop and cited as an influence on later alternative and indie rock musicians. He recorded solo material before his death in 1978, some of which was released after he died.
