Cesária Évora

Cesária Évora (died 2011) was a Cape Verdean singer associated with morna and coladeira, traditional song forms from Cape Verde. Her low, husky contralto and relaxed, melancholic delivery conveyed themes of longing and saudade, typically supported by acoustic guitars and subtle accompaniment.
