Cal Smith

Cal Smith was an American country singer known for a traditional country and honky-tonk sound and a warm baritone delivery. He came to prominence as a member of Ernest Tubb's backing band before launching a solo career in the late 1960s and 1970s, recording narrative-driven, story-oriented songs that appealed to mainstream country audiences. He died in 2013.
