Cab Calloway and His Orchestra

Cab Calloway and His Orchestra was an American big band led by Cab Calloway from 1930 to 1948. The group performed swing-era jazz marked by driving dance arrangements, punchy horn sections, and theatrical vocals; Calloway was known for animated stage presence and scat-inflected singing. The orchestra combined arranged ensemble passages with solo improvisation in the style of 1930s and 1940s big bands.
