Burt Bacharach

Burt Bacharach (1928–2023) was an American composer, songwriter, pianist and arranger known for crafting sophisticated pop that blended jazz, orchestral and easy listening elements. His work is marked by distinctive, often unexpected chord progressions, inventive rhythmic phrasing and polished instrumental arrangements, and he frequently collaborated with lyricist Hal David and with vocalists on songs written for recordings and for film and television.
