Buddy Holly

Buddy Holly was an American singer-songwriter and early rock and roll pioneer who blended country, rhythm and blues, and rockabilly into concise, melody-driven recordings. He recorded with his band the Crickets and was known for a clear, rhythmic guitar sound, a distinctive vocal delivery often described as a hiccup style, and a focus on original songwriting and studio experimentation. Though his career was brief, ending in 1959, his approach to songwriting, recording, and electric guitar helped influence later rock musicians.
